Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

This is your time to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top-rated models will be on sale during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with discounts up to 57%.

The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.

1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its greatest breakthrough is its camera-based obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes and the pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, so that you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop we've ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills effortlessly, leaving no trace that it was there. It's easy to control through the iRobot Home app that allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.

Its design is superior to the rest with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, we discovered that the j7+ swiftly eliminated dirt, dust and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place instead of scattering it on the floor. It was able to capture small gravel, sand and even a little grit. Most robots could not achieve this feat. And all this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.

Although it's not as smart as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not too expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.

Although the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and sometimes it's hard to determine whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, the best cheap robot vacuum choice is probably a hybrid. These robots come with a water tank, so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. These bots also come with various additional features like smart mapping and small object avoidance and the possibility of washing and re-drying mopping pads. The downside is that they can be expensive at retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock is the manufacturer of several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not perform to the standards. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with some of the premium features found on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles like tables and walls. This makes it an ideal option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is fantastic too, with very little misses in corners and along walls.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled using the buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map or change the labels of rooms.

Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place, emptying the bin is done with relative ease. It comes with a huge LCD screen, which is useful when setting up schedules and adjusting settings. This feature isn't required for most people but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is one of the top in the market however it's quite expensive.

It's a small base station that looks great and can be hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, functions, and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's one of the few robot vacuums I've tested that do very well at picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its faults, especially in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.

If you're looking to cut costs or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. Many eufy models cost significantly less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance, is cheaper, but offers more features, such as stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with a better overall vacuuming experience on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets and even high-pile ones.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company has a proven track record of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpeted floors, as well as mopping functions at an affordable price. It's simple to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch it on and plug in the charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located near an outlet and have enough space to move.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be precise, which means it will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. The design is more modest than other models, sporting a sleek black finish and three physical buttons that control Auto Cleaning, which can be paused or started. Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The main aspect that sets the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable objects in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it began.

The sleek G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged more quickly and has the same battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It has a bigger dust bin that does not require as much emptying. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and it has less trouble with bulky material like cereal.
