Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who are looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to go for. It is smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes if cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.

It is very quick and does a great job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. The suction motor's 8,000pa will quickly pick up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful in narrow corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be employed to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely to mop it is important to be aware of this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile and adaptable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and also find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and methodically. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that can be extended to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. In addition, the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to avoid build-up and lessen the odors.

Another noteworthy feature is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction strength and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also alter the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It is important to note that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter must be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad should be replaced every three to six months.

This robot vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and includes a wide range of physical automation features. These include the power button that serves as a general "Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with an elastomer pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated, but they do mean you don't have to think about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.

Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best robot hoover feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to protect certain areas of your house from being cleaned with mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able capture an enormous amount of hair that our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots that vacuum and mop struggled. The noise levels were low, and there were some lovely jingles that signal that it was starting and finishing its work.

The app was too easy and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which can be a pain when you live in a house with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it also has distinct features that are worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a clean sink as well as an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto vacuum and mop-emptying procedure. Press two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it happened particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a huge contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy models.
