The best robot vacuum and mop robot vacuum that mops (why not try this out)

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgHe evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than the other models on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through an efficient.

It's fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one sweep. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up sand, dirt, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, isn't as impressive. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and performs well however, it's something you'll have to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a range of features.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home, find furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This leads to an effective, consistent cleaning that's also fairly quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach places. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive however it has many useful features. It is important to keep in mind that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pads must be changed every three months.

The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. This includes a power button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after finishing its cleaning task. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empties the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home tidy without spending too much time on chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it can handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module that includes an elastomer pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming, but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to create a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your house from being swept with a mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a remarkable job at collecting hair of pets. It was able to capture a large amount of hair that our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few nice jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too basic and you had to alter the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot hoover that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some unique features that are worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock, which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base has a few control buttons that let you manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to toggle a child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni does not have a "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
