The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Check your robot vacuum best's brushes regularly for tangled debris as well as hair. Wash them if needed. Some models can also self-empty the onboard dust bin and place it in an additional bin at the base. This can reduce the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have tested. They feature motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost that boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests of floors with no carpet and are especially adept in cleaning dog hair. They do have some flaws however, which hinder them from being our first option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacle avoidance technology, so it's prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and can be used while you're at work or in school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle, however. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad to a dry one in minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also has a self-emptying dustbin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best automatic vacuum robotic hoover for carpets but it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensor technology that can stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the structure of your home over time and offer better cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is comparable to other models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm can be used to reach under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically empties into its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba model than the bulky models of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only downside is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This can be a problem in the mornings before work or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally capable and better looking. If you're willing to put up some more volume and a little more cost it's a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot mop and vacuum. It comes with a variety of advanced features that help you forget your chores. Like Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that can take care of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multifunction dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot employs a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than its top rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection but this wasn't foolproof in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.

Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the degree of dirt they tend to be.

If you have a bigger home, you should consider selecting a model with a spot or zone cleaning mode. This lets you inform the robot of which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. Additionally the recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you would expect from its price tag. It is a good autonomous vacuum cleaner, picking up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using one pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The well-designed iRobot app guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to organize an automatic vacuum cleaner spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize your dirtiest areas to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker more affordable alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute little eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it's more likely to get stuck on low thresholds. It is also noisier than other top robot vacuums that we have tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpg
