The Best Robot Hoover

The best robotic mop and vacuum robot hoover can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line functions (such as dirt detector) are a plus.

robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgCheck your robot's brushes frequently for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also automatically empty their dust bin on board into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to create detailed floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored extremely well in our tests on bare floors and are especially adept in removing hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws however, which hinder them from being our top option. One of them is that the Q5's navigation doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

Still, it's very good to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also extremely quiet and works while you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming of floors with no floor. And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robot vacuum cleaner and mop robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. You can alter its cleaning schedule and set up zones through the well-designed app. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach beneath furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could clean an entire home with just 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did an excellent job of cleaning a mix of floors and rooms that had mixed flooring types, including certain area rug. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line, and it nimbly avoided fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, an onboard dustbin that automatically fills up its base, and it supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgWith a sleek circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba rather than the boxy units this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to use. It comes with a simple mobile application interface, and it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in the mornings prior to work or during the night when you are trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and look better. If you're willing to put up with a little more noise and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with a lot of advanced features that will let you get rid of your chores. Like Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically emptys the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and could be confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also has an option called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty these areas are.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one specific area of your home via the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be beneficial if you have lot furniture. For busy families recharge functions and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off can be very useful.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance. The app also grants access to a variety of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and underneath furniture better. It has an impressive 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker and less expensive alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like adorable eyes. It does a good job vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to getting caught on low thresholds and is more noisy than the other top robot vacuums we've tested. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
