Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep your floors tidy enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Find one that has an easy navigation, can sweep corners and stairs and also has a large dust bin that requires emptying only every few times.

There are also models that clean and charge on their own This feature could be beneficial for those with pets or kids. The top performers in our tests also have decent obstacle avoidance.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually when it fills up.

Both robots excel at cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we test, the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it may have trouble navigating across surface transitions like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning where it started. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

The iRobot i7+ is a top model from iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and the most important feature of all -- it has self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ can remember up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot using voice or through the app.

In our tests the i7+ performed more agile and faster than our runner-up which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which removes major maintenance sources and reduces the cost of maintenance.

The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. Once connected, we were able to give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world full of vacuums with cords that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system removes allergens, and then releases clean air back into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task being performed. It quickly switches from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.

This model has an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also provides the ability to connect two attachments and a wand. This is a significant improvement over previous Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its limited running time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a standard battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is enough time to vacuum a typical-sized home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second run is usually sufficient). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

One of iRobot's most adored robot cleaner vacuums, the 694 is an affordable robot vacuum model that's an excellent choice for people who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It could pick up all kinds of debris in our tests, and frequently went over the same area several times for an efficient clean. Its flat front side helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice addition.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it lacks the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It can get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name that is found on all kinds of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're also one of the top robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of options for customizing your robotic Floor Vacuums cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications, docking frequency settings and much more. The app is simple to navigate and use similar to other Samsung devices.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and removed 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding taller objects like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for some buyers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app, and you can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature lets you check in on pets or children when you're away from home. The dustbin and the filter can be washed for the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that self-empties, which helps keep the robot's dustbin clear and optimizes its suction power for each cleaning.

6. Black & Decker best robot cleaner Vacuum

Black and Decker robots have been designed specifically for hard flooring. They have a wider cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds twice as much debris than other models to keep the area clear for maximum runtime. The POWERSERIES Extreme model comes with AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts the power level. It also has a smart app that lets you view the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. You can also monitor the status of the vacuum's battery and then return it to its dock for charging at the push of a button. My living room rug for instance has a dark-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however continued to travel across the border, without notifying the high point. And the ability to set up weekly cleaning schedules is a wonderful time-saving benefit.
