World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade you choose, it can boost the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item upgrade, related website, by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its base stats improve in value. The value is the sum of all its upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you do. This is due to the variety of perks that must be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell gear, players can compare the level of an item. It's a useful indicator of an item's quality and how much damage it will be able to deal. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when looking at a vendor's inventory.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the item level calculation is carried out. One theory states that the item level is calculated using a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It considers the fact that different perks have different values, and also that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the Best item upgrader.

However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, because the level of the area the item is dropped into can change the value of its stats, for instance by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have more ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Stats on an item are a significant element in what determines the value of an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by the player's level.

Upgrades to the item add by boosting certain stats on the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers may be upgraded multiple times at higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all sizes and shapes. The affixes can be used to give the item additional damage, or add a unique capability to the item (such as reviving dead or decreasing the duration of cooldowns) or make the item unique by adding an additional name to the item level upgrade.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and other items, which can be used to add to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which stats to keep on an item when it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within the range, unless it's an item that is unique or the result of a God roll from a boss of a raid.

This is another thing that could be altered by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or choosing which stats to increase. However, as with the base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item level, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats either lost or gained at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the strength of those properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players the chance to upgrade item gear earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in early game runs because players tend to put weapon scaling and defenses above raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased by using anti-materials such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented by using golden ingots or spined leather (depending on their material type) for a further +40 luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Certain items, like the weapon with Hollow-infused components, can also be equipped to increase the damage dealt by any ability that deals damage by 5%. These items can be purchased in the shop or made using the correct ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade or to stop players from losing their item if it fails.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of successfully upgrading that item, and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The percentage of success can only be increased so high, and the probability that an upgrade will fail can't be greater than 100%..

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. All items have an average success rate of 25 percent and each item that has Luck increases the chance of success by five percent.

Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects could be obstructed by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
