World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's stats base increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high depending on the upgrader you choose and what kind of upgrade you decide to perform. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

The level of an item is a widely used measurement of power and can be seen on all Best item upgrader tooltips. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. The average item level can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell gear players can evaluate the level of an item. It's an indicator of the item's damage and quality. The item level can also be used to compare items when looking at a vendor's inventory.

The item level can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the full Best item upgrader description, including its ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are various theories about how the item level calculation is done. One theory states that the level of an item is determined by a formula that calculates how valuable the stats of an item really are. It takes into consideration the fact that different perks have different values, and also that gems in sockets add to the item's overall value. This can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is typically close to Blizzard's real item level.

It's not the only factor that influences the level of an item. The degree of the area in which the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could increase the item upgrade's haste or crit rating. This means that items that drop at higher levels will have higher ilvl than those from lower-level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what makes or breaks an item for players. The game utilizes them in many ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage them to try out other weapons. The base stats of a weapon are boosted by the weapon's stat modifications which are then increased by the player's skill.

Upgrades to the item add by boosting certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For example, a grey or white item can only be upgraded once, whereas an item with rare tiers can be upgraded many times with higher prices.

Another way to change the stats on an item is to use affixes. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage, special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to distinguish them by adding a name.

At present, all affixes can be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button with circles arrows. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to be kept on an item when it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges for an item are based on the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or an item that is a God roll from a boss in a raid.

This is another aspect that could be changed by introducing an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to boost. But as with base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It gives players an opportunity to get better gear earlier in the game. This is particularly advantageous for early game runs, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

In addition to influencing the discovery of items, Luck also increases the probability of success when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to confuse with the Blacksmith’s overall Upgrade Item chances that increase with each level of the item. These can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can be augmented with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on their material type) to add another 40 luck, or to increase an item's existing Luck up to 140.

Certain items, such as the weapon with Hollow-infused components can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5percent. These items are available at the store, or they can be constructed using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items can be expensive and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading an item. This can be increased with Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased so much, and the chance that the upgrade will fail cannot be greater than 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. Each item has an average success rate of 25% and every item with Luck increases that chance by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
