Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are a great option for those looking to get mopping off their to-do list. They have impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their own mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model to choose if you want a robot cleaner vacuum cleaner that also mop. It's smaller than other models which makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of my favorite navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.

It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one pass. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is useful in tight corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, such as books and toys that have been damaged.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise while vacuuming or mopping and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and is effective, but it's something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuums which mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.

The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean, while also being relatively quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. They can reach corners or baseboards, as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to the walls or other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the odors.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more random patterns. You can also set the number of passes it will make, which will affect how fast the device will move around your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.

The device comes with a expensive price tag, but it has a variety of innovative features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. It has a power button that can also function as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent option. It has powerful performance, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. It has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming but it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan map, which it uses to create an outline for cleaning. This made it easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers that help to protect specific areas of your home from being cleaned with mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able to collect a lot of the hair that shed by our cats, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs, where other robots had struggled. It was quiet and had some nice jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it has some unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock, which doubles as a charging base and the housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink, and an automatic vacuum cleaner 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.

The base has several control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise in recognizing objects.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as a power cord draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This is a rare event however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another issue that could be a problem is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during cleaning. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
