The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover (from the Thetriumphforum blog) can clean and mop without requiring your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and high-end features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Make sure you regularly examine the brushes of your robot for hair that is tangled and large particles and wash them if needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dustbin into a larger bin at the base, which decreases the amount of fine dust released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They have top-of-the-line motors robots that vacuum and mop can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they utilize intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it clean quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors They are also adept at cleaning dog hair. However, they do have a few flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to become stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and operates while you're at work or at school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. And it's less effective at mopping, relying on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its quick navigation and smart cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also comes with strong suction and an automatic bin for emptying. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, however it isn't as effective as some of its competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This high-performing combination vacuum and mop utilizes advanced sensors to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time to ensure more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can tell it to take off and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it's not equipped with the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum best vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a good cleaning job on different flooring and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also clean the floor even after it vacuums. This is a feature that we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes, this mop and robot vacuum is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaner that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the only robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that is fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit, which can be a problem if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and cleans and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot uses the combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, navigating more intelligently than its more expensive rivals. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection, although this wasn't quite 100% foolproof during our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner comes with the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty these areas tend to be.

For larger homes it's recommended to choose a model with zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a particular area of your home using the app or voice controls. If you have a lot of furniture, a stairway mode is also a good option. Additionally, a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might think from its price. It has a great vacuuming performance and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was only second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating movement that cleans better that most of the robot mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It features a powerful 8000 Pascal suction, as well as intelligent combs to remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot clean that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It does a great job vacuuming, but it's more likely to get caught on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we have tested. It also has a less user-friendly app and a small base station that can't be used as a bin for emptying.
