Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment gives an increase in the linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at once to gain a gauge for the upgraded component of each item. The cost of recycling items increases according to their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

An item upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by various methods, including the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to boost their stats.

Upgradable items can be found throughout the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. Upgrade components are the primary method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while other components offer general bonuses.

There are a variety of upgrade elements in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments can be placed on any equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools, and provide a variety of benefits, from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.

Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right side of the screen. It will show the expected statistics after the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.

The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the rarity and level of the item increases. However, you can reduce the cost by purchasing upgrades from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded by an upgrade to a prefix for example, an insignia or rune. Many can be upgraded using suffix upgrades. These upgrades include an adjective in the item's name for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They move to grab the viewer's eye and entice curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also create a sense of familiarity in the brain, thereby increasing retention of the message.

Each glyph comes with a range of values that it can increase a stat's value in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is not the exact amount at which glyphs can improve the stat, but rather the maximum amount it is able to do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and the quality of the product you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the equipment in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can move the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed but you will be able to salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards therefore it should not be considered as a loss.

When you remove an item after adding a glyph, the shards of the glyph will vanish. You can also apply a glyph on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is helpful for players who take a lot of damage from enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token gives the player a new random affix, which is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can also be a good method to reroll the stats of a weapon and can be upgraded to increase damage or other perks.

Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they can still receive upgrades. If you click the "upgrade button" you can recycle these recycled items. This will change the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be selected for recycling. Recycling an item adds small amount of points to its level gauge. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity and also its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it rolls lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but players should be aware that it will lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls needed in order to increase it to its final ilvl. This effect of lowering is most effective on Diadems and ring items that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.

Some players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to allow people to pay for it with money or food items, which would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. The developers do not plan to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add a potion that will allow players to change their race in the future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of an upgrade for any stat. The second option is to increase the impact of the upgrade, which can increase the damage or healing of the stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. After this, the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

When you upgrade items it is essential to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. In most cases the Best item upgrader roll will be derived from glyphs, but there are also possibilities for higher or more special rolls. In addition the iLevel of an upgrade will be determined by the type of item and if you upgrade a rare or unique item to an exceptional item type it will have a chance to achieve a higher iLevel.

Upgrading items can be costly especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from the standard to the legendary track. The cost will depend on the item's iLevel base and the number of upgrade levels it comes with. Certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to get to the next level.

If you're fortunate the upgraded item could attain the highest level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will provide the item with a significant Upgrade item value. The bonus effect will vary with each upgrade level however. Generally speaking the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.

The iLevel can also change depending on the item upgrader's upgrade path and base level. For example, an item that is upgraded from a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
