Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as a dirt detector) are both positives.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive counterpart, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums that we have test. They are equipped with top-of-the-line motors which can generate up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the most powerful model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like furniture legs. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they have some flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good value for those whose home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you're looking to save money. It's also very quiet and works while you are at work or in school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes, which don't stick on very well and can't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle, however. And, if you have to, you can switch the mopping pad for a dry one in just a few seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a sleek, compact package. Its nimble navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. The flex arm can be utilized to reach under low-lying furnishings and along baseboards. It doesn't perform as well on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could sweep the entire house and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a decent cleaning job on different rooms and floors with various flooring types, including certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empties into the base. It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the only robotic hoovers vacuum or mop that scored an absolute 10 out of 10 in our testing. This is due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely self-refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is easy to use, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's a noisy unit which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as pricey as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and look better. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's very capable, but it's more expensive and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum cleaner best vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that let you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that can take charge of both mopping and vacuuming. It comes with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank, washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to map out floorplans and identify obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not foolproof in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the degree of dirt they are.

If you have a larger home, it is worth selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to tell the robot vacuum cleaners reviews which area of your home needs to be cleaned using the app or voice command. A stair mode can be useful if you own a lot furniture. Finally a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to pick up right where it left off is ideal for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you might expect from its price tag. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that can be washed.

The iRobot app is designed to guide you through an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to create an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize your dirtiest areas for greater efficiency. The app also gives access to many options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. It also has the ability to create a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble cute eyes. It is excellent at vacuuming, but it's more likely to be caught on low thresholds. It also has a higher noise than other top robot vacuums we have examined. It also has an app that's not as intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin to empty.
