Buying a Convertible Single to Double Stroller

Convertible double prams

If you're looking to purchase a cheap stroller that can adapt to your family, a convertible single double pram is a great alternative. They are compact, easy to use, and versatile. Cons: It takes up less space and storage space for both children and parents when compared to other designs.

Tandem (in-line) double prams

As the name implies, tandem prams are two seats or bassinets that face one another. Tandem prams are generally narrower than side-by-side double prams, and are easier to manoeuvre through doorways and on public transport. However they don't offer as much storage space and can be more difficult to access when both seats are in use if your toddler is sitting in the front seat.

Many first-time parents opt for tandem strollers to protect their investment should they have children with the same age. Tandem prams can be found in a variety of designs. For instance, an infant can be placed in a bassinet on the top of the pram, while an older child is seated on the seat below. Most tandem prams are able to be converted into a travel system by adding an automobile capsule to the top seat.

To give you the maximum flexibility, a side-byside double pram lets both kids enjoy the ride together and play as they go. This will help prevent them from waking eachother up.

A side-byside is a great choice for grandparents who want to be part of the activities. They can be used to push both children around and help with shopping, running errands, or even attending events. They're usually less expensive than a tandem pram, making them an excellent way to introduce grandkids to babysitting duties.

Single prams

A single pram can only allow one seat or a bassinet/carry-cot. It is generally suitable from newborn up to around. Four years old. A majority of single prams allow a toddler board to be connected to the back so that another child can sit or stand (depending on the type of toddler board) while you push the stroller through.

Some parents who are new to the family decide to protect their pram from future damage purchase by buying a double option, such as our DUO2. It can be used in a single mode until you have a second child and then convert it into a tandem double pram when the second baby arrives. This saves you the cost and burden of having to purchase a separate double pram.

In-line or tandem double prams might be a little wider than side-by-side double prams but they are still easier to manoeuvre on busy pedestrian paths and inside shops. However, they can be more difficult to use while jogging and will require greater effort to push when you're going up or down hills.

They are a bit larger than tandem or in-line double prams however they are an excellent choice if your children are in the same age range. The children are able to see each the other and interact from their seats. However, they are less mobile and might not be able to fit through doors as easily as a tandem stroller.

Non-convertible side by side prams cannot be used in single mode. You must purchase a different pram Double or stroller for your younger child.
