The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.

He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent choice for those who want to get mopping off their to-do list. Some models have superior mapping and obstacle avoidance. Others even wash and refill mopping pads themselves to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other options and makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh which can last up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgThe mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to clean larger objects, such as broken toys or books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create the same amount of noise while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping, and is separate from the autonomous vacuum. It's easy to install and performs well, but this is something you'll need to keep an eye on in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a wide range of features.

The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This results in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. These include corners, baseboards, and other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will determine how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and carpets.

It's expensive, but has many smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device will incur periodic costs in the form of mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad must be replaced every one to three months.

This robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide variety of physical automation features. These include a power button that serves as a general "Clean button as well as a Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.

Our testers found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your house from being cleaned with a mop.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to capture the majority of hair that our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crevices of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was beginning or finished its work.

The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock which doubles as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than standard laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets entangled in an obstacle, such as a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you untangle it manually. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert in its app.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during the cleaning robot mop and vacuum process. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking Robot vacuums That mop, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
