World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade allows players to boost the gear rating of an item upgrades up to 700 points and add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items can be upp'd to benefit from their unique stats (like a perfectly made breakpoint armour that can be rolled to use in melee PvP) while others like weapons don't change much post upgrade, so they aren't worth upgrading.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can boost their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons also come with a flat bonus which increases their damage per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a group. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will increase until it needs a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is generally beneficial, it can have some negative consequences too. Upgrades can render items unusable, unless you are very lucky.

The ability to upgrade armor items to improve their effectiveness. This can increase the defense of a helm or chest as well as belts and gloves. These will increase their required strength and agility. Armor offers a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading along with the values of these stats. This means that the weapon will gain an attack damage of 3% if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will strike three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu, using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level or bind to account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense your character has, the more value you will get from each point of health you possess and it's crucial to upgrade your armor as much as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a special side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed your main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.

The amount of materials required to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a 5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in cold environments with a lot of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense so that you can survive a raid with your comrades.

You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, such as the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you use to fight the final boss, the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

You can also unlock some benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades to the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, provide an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with different effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. Additionally the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP. These can be earned by crafting them using a craft table or in an Alchemist's chest. The price of upgrades varies based on the type of potion and the item's Rarity and Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at once, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it won't degrade until you use it again or break the bottle it's stored in. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item upgrades. The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be used by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. Similarly, using a potion on a full cauldron drains the contents and refills the bottle.

Lastly, there are now lingering potions that are brewed with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket can be described as a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It can be a reference to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly significant such as a thimble. In certain cultures, a trinket is used to express affection or friendship between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets are able to be swapped out at will without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens or fragments of rare trinkets.

The upgrade of a trinket can be a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new one. A player can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as previous one, and will include an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they are no longer needed, allowing a player to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.

Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the Best item upgrade-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that will not replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When choosing which items to upgrade, players should consider the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their chest, helm, and shoulders.

Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can ruin the previous trinket until it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than purchasing the new one.
