Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on floors and carpets and can move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we test the i3+ does not have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords, and may have issues traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it left off.
